# The elastic team model, explained without the buzzwords

### The problem with fixed

Hiring gives you fixed headcount. Agencies give you fixed scopes. Both are fine until your needs change, which is always.

A launch month needs three developers and a marketer. The month after needs one developer and a lot of patience. Paying for peak capacity all year is expensive; scrambling for it every quarter is worse.

### What elastic means in practice

A small core team stays with you and learns the business. Around it, specialists join for the weeks they are needed and leave when they are not.

The core keeps context. The specialists bring depth. You get one lead who owns the outcome.

### When it works best

Elastic teams shine when work is lumpy: launches, seasonal campaigns, product sprints. If your needs are perfectly flat, a fixed hire may be simpler.

### How to try it

Start with one clear goal and a two-person core. Agree how and when the team scales. Review every month.
